Why Core Laboratories’ Shares Popped 7.1% Today

Shares of oil and gas services company Core Laboratories (NYSE: CLB) jumped as much as 7.1% in trading on Wednesday as oil prices soared. But the oil stock fell late in the day and closed up just 1.2%. 

Crude oil prices rose sharply early in trading on Wednesday with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) prices up as much as 6.2% to $61.34 per barrel. At 4 p.m. EDT, WTI is still up 5.2% for the day.
